Throughout the Bible, we are often surprised to find that God actually
rejects the worship of His people. Even as early as Cain and Abel, each offered
something to God—one was rejected and the other accepted. And in that
story, though we don’t have a detailed account as to what made the offering
acceptable other than the Lord’s admonition “If you do what is right, will you
not be accepted?” the rest of Scripture contains a major theme revealing
what makes our adoration of the Father something pleasing to Him. Here we
